Paul's Barn
Sonoma, Ca
Andy and Lisa framed this spectacular barn with grade stamped permitted structural materials according to the PRMD, then they spent the rest of the time along with their talented Contractor Chris Nielsen, cladding the structure inside and out with Heritage Salvage reclaimed building Materials. The exterior was done in Windfalla Redwood from Salmon Creek School, they bought the majority of the 1x12 which went a long way toward helping Salmon Creek build their Environmental Education Center!
The interior was paneled with skip-planed Moscow Idaho shiplap wood. The beams were clad in rough sawn fir with locking miter joints, then sanded and distressed, and then hand carved in a beautiful western motif. The ceiling beams were from 5x7’s deconstructed from the Holt Equipment Barn(Caterpillar) in Stockton. The floors were from 1x6 t&g pine from Moscow Idaho Granary. The rusty corrugated was retrieved from a 300’ long chicken barn in Ojai!
